Model: Lifetime or ULTRA The Fortec Star Lifetime ULTRA satellite receiver: The reported problem has been that some firmware flashes have a clone killer contained within the program and this has caused many receivers to fail or go dead, without any visible sign of life. Actually, what has happened is that the killer part of the flash (or wiper) has completely removed the TSOP memory, (in your receiver) disabling it altogether. There is a way to correct this problem by implementing a jtag device and reflashing straight to the Tsop. We will install a new pin header if your board does not have one, and desolder the 10x2 holes and install a new pin header so that the receiver can be rewritten again. 2 basic prices for repair. $40.00 for existing headers on board $50.00 desolder holes - install new 10x2 header shipping back fedex ground or USPS Priority unless otherwise specified Pay using paypal at: http://paypal.com and my email sales@criscros.net Wait until we check out unit to diagnose memory losses vs. hardware issues The 2x10 pin Header looks like this
lF you have other types of receivers, this procedure can repair many clones as well. The most common headers are 2x10, 2x5, 2x6 (rows by pins) Original Factory Firmware - Please do not ask for others |
