| Quick instruction set enables a
first time user to effectively install and setup the DSR920 or DSR922 successfully hookup
connections and program for c/ku satellites the first time.
First Time Users: Setting Cband Satellites
and East/West limits
Before
removing any cables from old receiver, go to G-0, then disconnect old
receiver. Remove decoder and install the new receiver... (stacking new receiver on
top of old makes it easier)....enclosure in back. Connect all cables. The ones in question
will be the large red and white motor wires. I usually move the dish west to G-5
channel 3 to make sure that the wires are connected properly. dish should move west with
west button. East with east button. Reverse wires if necessary. ( you can do this while
receiver is on ) but don't touch remote until wires are physically
reversed.
The first menu to use is the Options
6, 4, 2 Change Dish Settings: Set for Cband Lnb only (don't select Cband Lnbf). If you have KU, set that up later. Make sure that
Allow dish moving for updates is checked. Proceed to Options 6 ,4, 3
limits mode then to program satellites: Highlight G-0 first,
then press Enter. In this menu use the channel up/down buttons and
go to channel 17 for nickelodon, (auto skew tune if necessary) then check channel 24 or
even channels. Press go back and save. Next highlight G-5 and use the dish move west
button ( I use channel 3 ) Repeat process to C-1 or W7. Set West limit
slightly beyond w-7. At this point, try the #1 move dish to specific satellite
that you want to program. You could try G-4 and see if the receiver positioning is
accurate. If you get G-4 (16) without any dish adjustment. Proceed and use the
receiver recommendation position for the rest of satellites(first option in menu), all the
way to last satellite east. If it is not there move your east or west button to
locate G-4 ( I use channel 16 Preacher at desk) check for odd/even channels, go back,
save, then proceed east, repeating the same process per satellite. After setting W2
set the East limit ,east of the satellite until no picture, then go
to G-1 channel 3 or 100. Use the options 6, 5 menu. The
channel database will start building beyond 4,000 At this point, call your
programmer for the ipg guide and digital programming that you are currently subscribed.
Provide your digital unit Id, found on same page. If you currently subscribe to HBO,
Cinemax and a basic service, then you will get the HBO, Max digital channels free of
charge by your existing subscription (see G1-100 and up) My favorite programmer is NPS - Press program guide after you
receive hits, (typically 5-6) Press Guide and wait a few minutes. Guide will display
existing programming on G-0, then go to G-1 channels 100 up to check your new digital
channels. If you have Showtime, TMC, then go to C3-101 or G-0- 101and up.
Back
to Receivers
Summation: You can select other satellites and other
starting points but I like to use G-0 since this is where the digital information and IPG
guide is derived. Also, your starting actuator or dish position is 5000 - When storing
satellites three items are needed:
Dish Position (or location) - Odd
channel - Even channel store all three for each satellite
